Why blog about photography

Some people say a picture is worth 1,000 words.  To me a picture is worth more.  A picture is the most powerful form of expression of a single point in time and space.  A picture opens our eyes to the beauty, wonder, and meaning of every moment in our lives.  A picture can capture any mood, feeling, expression, person, memory, personality, culture, story, purpose, and more.  A picture speaks to every person differently and it is up to the viewer to decide what the picture is saying.  Some people will be moved by a photograph, others will move right by.  I challenge anyone who views this page to find a picture that speaks to them.  It does not have to be a picture on this page.  It does not have to be from the national geographic.  It can be as simple as a photograph from your family album or your high school yearbook.  I challenge you to understand the power of a picture and why each moment of our lives is so important.  Take these thoughts with you as you browse my collection of photographs, which have spoken to me.  Use this as practice to find your own personal collection of photographs that have spoken to you.  Words can only say so much, but pictures reveal the secrets behind the words and are always worth revisiting to discover more. Enjoy your time viewing my page as you enjoy each moment in your life.

  1. I never thought about it like that - our whole lives are a million pictures put together in a row.
